The recent wildfires have been devastating and continue to impact Southern California, and The ALO Cultural Foundation is here to provide support and resources to those impacted and lend a helping hand. We understand this challenging time and the effects these events can have on individuals and businesses, especially those underserved and vulnerable communities.

Here’s the programs available from The ALO Cultural Foundation and how we can help:

  • Immediate Support through the Zero Hunger Initiative Assistance Program : The ALO Cultural Foundation is offering same-day virtual take-in support application for vulnerable individuals and families with food assistance. Please email us at executivedirector@alofoundation.org and provide us with your name, phone number, and your affected area.
  • Specialized Assistance for the Underserved Community: Our team will work with families to provide individualized assistance and resources tailored to their unique needs and current challenges.
  • Clothing and Essential Items Donation: We will be collecting and distributing clothing, one day temp shelter, and food assistance, to support individuals who have lost their homes or been displaced. For more information on how you can donate clothing or other items, email us at executivedirector@alofoundation.org
  • Virtual Community Conversation: Join The ALO Cultural Foundation Team on Tuesday, January 26th for a special virtual community conversation to discuss strategies for overcoming these challenging times. An invitation with additional details will be sent to interested attendees.

  • LA County Assessor disaster relief information for property owners and FAQ
  • Lyft: Riders in need can use the code CAFIRERELIEF25, valid for 2 rides up to $25 each ($50 total) for 500 riders from now until 1/15 at 11:59 p.m.
  • Uber: Use promo code WILDFIRE25 in the wallet section of your Uber app to redeem 2 free Uber rides up to $40/each for transportation to/from active shelters.
  • Airbnb: Airbnb, partnership with 211 LA, is offering free temporary housing for residents displaced or forced to evacuate due to the recent wildfires. Submit your information in this form to receive notifications on availability.

  • Metro: Fare collection for rides on Metro has been suspended systemwide.
